The LIFE Demonstration projects concern pilot innovative actions that are implemented for the first time at European level and there is interest, if they are successful, to be applied in a wider scale.

The program eHospitalEMAS focuses on the implementation of the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) in the participating hospitals with the concurrent application of actions regarding the sustainable waste management, the energy saving and the promotion of green procurement. More specifically, it aims at the implementation of pilot actions for Greece, and then at the dissemination of the results and the experience gained to other Mediterranean countries. For this reason, a collaboration with the World Health Organisation is decided, in order to facilitate the communication of the project partners with other European hospitals and support the diffusion of the project in other countries.
